You are what you eat.  We have all heard this phrase at one time or another in our lives.  If you consume high calories, high fat, and packaged foods with additives and preservatives you are going to feel tired, and unhealthy.  In the book, smart eating Made Simple, nutritionist Jane Ibbetson discusses how changing your diet to mostly plant based organic whole foods can help you regain your energy and improve your overall health.

I am a stay at home mother of five beautiful children and eating healthy foods is very essential for my family.  When we get busy with school activities, traveling or family emergencies eating best is much more difficult.  We are surrounded with advertisements for packaged foods claiming to be fortified with healthy ingredients like lutein, extra protein, fiber and nutrients. We think these products are healthy for us and fall for the manufacturers’ gimmicks.  However, these foods are missing important nutrients that our bodies crave and need.

Smart eating Made easy is and essential guide book to healthy eating that every family should have in their home library. Delectable Fruit Salad with Yogurt Dressing

1 c of grapes, cut in half3 apples, unpeeled, chunked3 bananas, sliced1 – 20 oz. can of pineapple tidbits in 100% juice1/2 cup of dried apricots, chopped

dressing 1/2 c plain Greek yogurt 1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, undiluted 2 tablespoons raw honey

Layer the 6 fruits attractively in a glass bowl.  mix yogurt, orange juice concentrate and honey for dressing.  pour over fruit in the bowl and serve.  Do not stir before serving time.  Makes 8-10 servings.

After reading this book I believe I have finally found an answer to my health issues.  I suffer from insomnia, fatigue and digestive problems.  My husband has other problems with his health mostly related to his weight. We eat meat in small portions and try to stay away from red meats, however I don’t think we eat enough plant based foods.  This fall I am planing on incorporating much more of the suggestions in smart eating Made easy for my family’s diet.  I am also looking forward to trying much more of the recipes in the book.

Momversation: Gør Facebook dig jaloux på dine venner?

Mit liv er temmelig godt. Jeg har ikke en iPhone eller en personlig kok, men mine dage er fulde af familie, venner, interessante arbejde, sunde børn og nok penge til at betale for en ugentlig date aften. Så det er muligt, at jeg har lidt forståelse for, hvordan det føles at være smertefuldt jaloux på andre, fordi jeg normalt kan vende tilbage til stedet for at minde mig selv om, at jeg har alt, hvad jeg har brug for.

Da jeg indspillede denne video, havde jeg lige læst et par blogartikler og kommentarer andre steder fra folk, der beskrev at føle sig så ulykkelig, når de læste om succeserne og gode tider for deres venner på Facebook, at de er nødt til at stoppe med at læse. This week went by rather rapidly like usual. I still can not believe that it is may as well as I have two much more weeks to go up until I am in my third trimester. I will lastly have my long awaited ultrasound on may 20. Chris doesn’t want to discover out what the baby‘s gender is however I am torn. I still believe that I am having one more girl, however it would be good to understand if I am appropriate or not.Nothing as well interesting has occurred this week.
